Saori Koike

Laureate of Internetional competitions

Saori Koike was born in Japan, in the city of Yamanashi.

Saori made her first steps in the ballet in the Iwata Ballet School studio. In 1994, she enrolled in the Yumi ballet studio, from 1999, she practiced with the Tokyo City Ballet ballet troupe, in 2002 she enrolled in Perm State Choreographic School, which she graduated with honors in 2005 (class of E.V. Bystritskaya) .

Since 2005, Saori Koike has been a soloist of the St. Petersburg State Academic Ballet Theater named after L. Jakobson ("Choreographic Miniatures").

In 2007-2011, Saori was the leading soloist of the Mari State Opera and Ballet Theater named after Eric Sapaeva, where she performed the following parts: Odette-Odile, Pas de Trois in Swan Lake, Marie and French doll  in The Nutcracker, Kitri, Amor in Don Quixote, Gamzatti in La Bayadère, Lise in La fille mal gardée, Cinderella in Cinderella, Esmeralda, Diane, and Fleur de Lys in La Esmeralda, Aegina, Phrygia in Spartacus, D. Ober Grand Pas Classique, Pas de deux of Medora and Slave (Le Corsaire).

Saori Koike participated in the Arabesque-2004, 8th Open Competition of Ballet Dancers of Russia,  (Perm), she became laureate of the Tanzolymp-2005 International Choreographic Festival-Contest (Berlin, Second Prize), laureate of the Arabesque-2006 9th Open Contest of Russian Ballet Dancers (Perm, Audience Choice Award), laureate of the Arabesque-2008 10th Open Contest of Ballet Dancers of Russia (Perm, Diploma and Prize for Acting), laureate of the International Ballet Competition in Tallinn (2014, Second Prize and Best Duet Prize with Egor Motuzov).

In 2011, Saori Koike was invited to join the Kremlin Ballet as a soloist.

Her repertoire includes Kitri and her playmates in Don Quixote, Diana, Little Gypsies in La Esmeralda, Princess Aurora and Princess Florine in The Sleeping Beauty, Peasant Pas de Deux (insertion) in Giselle, Arabian Dance in Ruslan and Lyudmila, Chinese doll in The Nutcracker, Mercutio’s girl-friends in Romeo and Juliet, Maiden in One Thousand and One Nights, Papagena in The Magic Flute, Pas-de-six in La Bayadère, etc.

Her mentor is Zhanna Vladimirovna Bogoroditskaya, Honored Artist of the Russian Federation.
