On April 22, 2018, the State Kremlin Palace will host the unique concert of Yuri Bashmet and Konstantin Khabensky together with Moscow Soloists chamber orchestra. The musician and actor will perform before the big audience that is sure to love the show.
Konstantin Khabensky is one of the best-known theater and movie actors who is titled the People’s Artist of Russia. Yuri Bashmet is one of the most titled contemporary musicians who has multiple awards including “Grammy”. The two organizers call their program an “experiment in music and literature”. The description is very intriguing and the participants are truly talented.
The first part of the concert will feature Franz Schubert’s quartet “Death and the Maiden” rearranged by Gustav Mahler and performed by the Moscow Soloists chamber orchestra. Konstantin Khabensky will read out fragments from Albert Camus’ famous play “Caligula”. The second part will feature Camille Saint-Saëns’ suite “The Carnival of the Animals”, and Khabensky will read the poem to this suite translated by Dmitry Bykov.
