"Don Quixote" is a full of color theatrical performance and, perhaps, the most joyful classical ballet in the world! Temperamental dances, rhythmic clicking of castanets, bright costumes – the performance takes the viewers straight to sunny Spain.
Having read many chivalric novels, the dreamer Don Quixote sets off on his travels in order to achieve great feats. He takes the innkeeper's daughter Kitri for his Beautiful Lady, but alas! the girl is in love with the barber Basilio. The characters are going to have fun adventures, chases, jokes and, of course, a happy ending.
New comic characters appear in the original version of Natalia Kasatkina and Vladimir Vasilev: the bachelor Carrasco and Don Quixote’s niece Antonina, who accompany the brave knight on his travels and play the role of his faithful horse Rocinante. The image of Kitri's unlucky fiance, the nobleman Gamache, acquired its own zest and became more expressive. Bright choreography, enchanting music and sparkling holiday atmosphere — that's why "Don Quixote" has remained a favorite of theater scenes for more than a hundred years.
