Ennio Morricone returns to Russia!
A unique opportunity to get to the concert of the legendary composer and conductor!
The concert of the great Maestro will take place on November 7 at the State Kremlin Palace in Moscow. Ennio Morricone himself will conduct the choir and orchestra, performing music to the famous movies. The concerts will be held as part of the 60 Years of Music world tour.
The music of Maestro Morricone will be played by the Czech National Symphony Orchestra, which has been working closely with the composer for several years. This orchestra participated in the recording of the soundtrack to The Hateful Eight movie. Numerous awards of the recordings testify to the full understanding and trust between the musicians and the conductor. A large choir of 75 singers will also take part in the concert.
Legendary Dulce Pontes, a Portuguese fado singer will come to Russia as a special guest. The program has already won the hearts of hundreds of thousands of people across the continent and received enthusiastic reviews in the media.
Ennio Morricone has written music for over 500 movies. Besides, he has more than 100 independent works. Especially famous was the music written for such movies as Once Upon a Time in America (1983), The Mission (1986), Malèna (2000), The Untouchables (1987), C'era una volta il West (1968) and others. The soundtrack to the movie Il buono, il brutto, il cattivo (The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly) (1966) takes the second position in the Top-200 rating of the best ever written musical films.
Performances in Russia will be a part of the big tour dedicated to the 60th anniversary of Morricone composer activity. In its turn, this one is part of the European Tour, in which over the last few years more than 40 concerts have been held in 30 cities of Europe. In August 2017, maestro Morricone received an award from GEA Live, the famous producer company, for selling over 500,000 tickets during the World Tour.
During his long career, Morricone has received many international awards. He is a nine-time laureate of the David di Donatello award for the best music for various films, three-time laureate of the Golden Globe Award, winner of the Academy Honorary Award (2007) and the Oscar for the best soundtrack to The Hateful Eight (2016). He has 27 gold and 7 platinum discs, and his soundtrack for The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly (1966) was included in the Grammy Awards Hall of Fame.
The maestro says that the upcoming tour’s aim is “to represent my music in all these cities, so different from each other, for people of all ages and with so diverse cultural experiences: it is unbelievable! This year, I celebrate my professional jubilee, 60 years in music, for which I have managed to write more than 600 works. The program of the performance will consist of both hits and new works. Of course, classical pieces, for example, music to popular westerns by Sergio Leone, are also to be performed. Besides, I want to add music born from the collaboration with Quentin Tarantino, as well as soundtracks to those films of Sergio Leone that were not played during previous performances. Moreover, I am happy to be on stage with the legendary Dulсe Pontes with her incredible and penetrating vocals.”
