New Year's improvisations and surprises
In the last ten years, Sergei Zhilin’s Phonograph has rightfully gained fame as one of the most popular groups in Russia. Today almost no TV mega-project is complete without their participation. Dozens of stars collaborate with the team, including Lara Fabian, Igor Krutoi, Philippe Kirkorov, Tamara Gverdtsiteli and many others.
Three years ago, the legendary "Phonograph-Jazz Band" celebrated their 30th anniversary. Musicians perform music in a variety of styles: from traditional jazz and soul to funk, rock'n'roll, and fusion.
In their programs, they boldly connect classical music with the achievements of modern jazz mainstream, performing extraordinarily charming melodies of the 1920s and the author's versions of jazz standards.
On December 30, on the New Year's Eve, the favorite jazz standards in the original transcriptions of Sergei Zhilin will acquire an incredibly alluring New Year's fragrance. The core of this program will be the most popular of the “snowy” songs, including Let It Snow! Let It Snow! Let It Snow! Over the years of its existence (since 1945), the song has been performed by an endless number of musicians. The song acquired the greatest popularity in the performance of Frank Sinatra, and in the performance of Vaughn Monroe, it became the main theme in the Die Hard movie. By tradition, on this evening, Sergei Zhilin will present the
audience a cascade of New Year's improvisations and musical surprises.
