“Nutcracker” by Perm Opera and Ballet Theater

1 February

The only show of “Nutcracker” by Perm Opera and Ballet Theater will be held in the State Kremlin Palace, on February 1, 2018. The leading roles will be performed by legendary dancers Natalia Osipova and Nikita Chetverikov.

Former prima ballerina of Mikhailovskiy Theater, Вolshoi Theater, and American Ballet Theater Natalia Osipova has become prima once again – this time in the city of Perm and the Royal Opera House in London.  She is currently one of the most famous and titled Russian ballerinas. She has been awarded with the Golden Mask Award as well as the Benois de la Danse and many others. World’s best choreographers would stage ballets especially for her. She is a great classic and contemporary dancer.

Natalia’s first time in Perm was in May 2009 when she was with the Bolshoi Theater’s troupe on tour called “Dyagilev Seasons”. In 2016, Perm ballet artistic director Alexey Miroshnichenko invited her to star in “Romeo and Juliet” staged by Kenneth MacMillan and conducted by Teodor Currentzis. This was the first time she partnered the 2016 Big Ballet contest winner Nikita Chetverikov. Critics from all over the world noted that they had made a great duo. Now they get to work together again in “Nutcracker” as principal dancers.

Especially for the “Nutcracker” premiere in Moscow, huge stage decorations will be delivered from Perm where they are made from original sketches. As expected, “Nutcracker” has to be one of the brightest shows of 2018.
