On October 22, the main stage of the country at the State Kremlin Palace will welcome Ulf Wadenbrandt and the Russian Philharmonic Society Moscow Symphony Orchestra with the concert entitled "Queen & ABBA Symphony" from the Symphonic Rock Hits series.
The Queen & ABBA Symphony program includes only gold hits of world famous bands, an incredible combination of classical sound of a symphony orchestra with unbridled freedom and drive of rock and pop music. The soloists of the concert are the winner of the Eurovision contest Charlotte Perrelli (Sweden), the participant of the Eurovision contest Magnus Bäcklund (Sweden) and Johan Boding (Sweden). The well-known Swedish conductor Ulf Wadenbrandt conquered the exacting Moscow audience with his indomitable energy and ability to “ignite” a multi-thousand hall crowd instantly. First, he is known for his projects in the style of symphonic rock and crossover: a combination of classical, popular and rock music. The most popular ones are based on the hits by ABBA, the Beatles, Queen, Deep Purple, and Rolling Stones, compositions of Michael Jackson and Robbie Williams, as well as movie soundtracks. Together with his symphony orchestra, Ulf Wadenbrandt made many recordings for Swedish radio and TV. The ability to transcend from one genre to another, active creativity and brilliant knowledge of music allow Ulf Wadenbrandt to open up new possibilities of a symphony orchestra.
Queen is still regarded as a cult group by their hundreds of millions of fans. Their concert performances were recognized as one of the most striking and significant in the history of rock. Such songs as Bohemian Rhapsody, We Will Rock You, The Show Must Go On have been pronounced the rock classics by the critics.
ABBA, the famous Swedish quartet, is one of the most famous musical groups in the history of popular music. A huge number of their songs entered the list of the best songs of the twentieth century, and the number of albums sold is estimated at millions. The quartet ranked first in the world charts from the mid-1970s to the early 1980s, and their albums-collections still headed the world charts in the 2000s. The concert will feature The Winner Takes It All, Thank You for the Music, Money, Money, I Have a Dream, Voulez Vous, Super Trooper and other equally popular songs of the band.
Roman Miroshnichenko is a special guest of the event. He is one of the most acclaimed guitarists of the new generation, a four-time winner of the American Independent Music Awards in 2010 and 2016, the first prizewinner of the 18th Annual USA Songwriting Competition in 2013 and many others.
