The amazing creative union of two brilliant 20th-century musicians Montserrat Caballe and Freddie Mercury gave life to a unique album entitled "Barcelona". It all began in March 1987, when Freddie met with Montserrat in Barcelona. He gave her a cassette with a few of his new songs. Caballe liked these works, and she even performed one of them at her concert at Covent Garden in London to the great surprise of Freddie. The release of the joint album was preceded by two performances by Freddie and Montserrat; they sang the famous “Barcelona”, which Freddie dedicated to the hometown of Caballe. On October 8, 1988, three songs from this album were performed at the La Nit festival in Barcelona: “Golden Boy”, “How Can I Go On” and “Barcelona”. This was the last performance of Freddie Mercury.
The title song of the album "Barcelona" became the anthem of the 1992 Summer Olympic Games in Barcelona. The year 2018 marks the 30th anniversary of the album's release.
The only concert in Moscow!
