Critics describe the skill of a talented native of the Apennine Peninsula with the words “virtuosity”, “sophistication”, and “sensuality”.
Roberto Plano's upcoming solo concert is a truly unique gift for the Muscovites and guests of the capital. It will allow them to escape from the hustle and bustle and plunge into the wonderful and perfect world of music. On this extraordinary evening maestro will play the works of Frédéric Chopin, Franz Liszt, Astor Piazzolla, Heitor Villa-Lobos, Alberto Evaristo Ginastera, George Gershwin, Andrea Luchesi, and Ottorino Respighi. The cozy chamber atmosphere of the small Diplomatic hall of the State Kremlin Palace decorated with magnificent multicolored marble will be a great addition.
Roberto Plano was born on August 1, 1978 in the city of Varese, the administrative region of Lombardy, Italy.He graduated from the Milan Conservatory, where he studied under the guidance of Eli Perrotta and Chiaralberta Pastorelli. He also attended master classes of Lazar Berman, Bruno Canino and other well-known mentors. Plano's world career began in 2001, after he won the first prize at the Cleveland International Piano Competition in the United States, after which he made a concert in New York, prompting a positive review by the New York Times reviewer, who testified to his "artistic maturity".
A series of subsequent successful performances at major international piano competitions, including the 12th Van Cliburn International Piano Competition in 2005, marked the world recognition, a number of major concert tours followed. Currently, the pianist combines active concert and pedagogical activities with the social duties. His solo albums featuring works by Frédéric Chopin, Franz Liszt, Johannes Brahms, Alexander Scriabin, and Bedřich Smetana were released in collaboration with the largest record companies.
