Sleeping Beauty by Kasatkina and Vasilyov was for the first time presented in Cannes, France in 2004. Since then the beauty of this fantastic story has been inspiring adults and children, critics and poets – the audience worldwide. The costumes and scenery create a special atmosphere: by the wave of a magic wand a delicate castle grows, the bewitched wood rustles with branches on stage…
The libretto united Charles Perrault's The Sleeping Beauty and The Beauty and the Beast. As usual, the combination of original and classical choreography has become a trademark of the directors.
The performance is accompanied by the orchestra of the Kolobov New Opera theater. Valery Kritskov is the conductor.
