On March 2, the State Kremlin Palace will host the ballet "Crackatook" of the State Academic Theatre of Classical Ballet of N. Kasatkina and V. Vasilev.
The new ballet "Crackatook" by N. Kasatkina is the origin story of the Nutcracker, a character of the fairy tale beloved by many generations. The play reveals the mystery of the main character's origin and the story of the young man's transformation into a wooden doll. In the ballet "Crackatook" dreams are intertwined with reality: Marie dreams of the fairy tale about the Princess Pirlpat, Prince Nutcracker and Queen Mouserinks, composed by the watchmaker Drosselmeyer, and then her dream continues in life. This is a story about growing up and how love defeats evil sorcery.
The music for the ballet "Crackatook" was composed by People's Artist of Russia Eduard Artemyev, a winner of numerous awards. The composer's own musical ideas are intertwined with the themes of P. I. Tchaikovsky: Symphony No. 5 and popular compositions from the ballets "the Nutcracker" and "Sleeping beauty" are performed in a modern and innovative arrangement. Interactive scenery that transforms the world on stage according to the action creates a mystical atmosphere of Hoffman's fairy tale.
