Maxim Afanasyev is a star dancer of The Kremlin Ballet theater.

After graduation from Moscow State Academy of Choreography (class AI Bondarenko) in 2003 he was invited to the troupe of the theater.

Currently, his repertoire includes Drosselmeyer,Prince, the Spanish Doll in The Nutcracker; Gringoir and Claude Frollo in La Esmeralda;  Ruslan and Ratmir in Ruslan and Lydmila, Prince Désiré and Bluebird in The Sleeping Beauty; Prince Siegfried and Pas de Trois (solo) in Swan Lake, Frost in The Snow Maiden, Romeo and Paris in Romeo and Juliet,  Sindbad and Shahryar in One Thoisand and One Nights, Espada in Don Quixote; Albrecht in Giselle, Poet in Les Sylphides, Solor in La Bayadère, etc.

He successfully performs during the theatre tours, having visited Italy, China, Lebanon, Hungary, Spain, South Korea, Mexico, the United Arab Emirates, Greece, Cyprus, France, Estonia, England and other countries.

His mentor is Andrei Y. Kondratov, Honored Artist of the Russian Federation.
