Upon graduation from the Moscow Choreographic Institution, in 1980-1999 he was working in the Russian Bolshoi Theatre. He played the following parts: Businessman (“The little prince”) and others. Since 1999 he has become a ballet master of the Kremlin Ballet Theatre. Valeriy Ryzhov assisted Grigorovich to stage the following ballets: “Romeo and Juliette”, “The Nutcracker”, “Spartacus”. He worked together with A.B. Petrov to stage “Arkaim”, “Esmeralda”, “The Snow Maiden”, “One Thousand and One Nights” ballets in the Kremlin Ballet Theatre.
