Solemn Сlosing of the IX International Festival of Mstislav L. Rostropovich

On April 3, in the final concert, which is part of the solemn closing ceremony of the IX International Festival of Mstislav Rostropovich, on the stage of the State Kremlin Palace for the first time in Russia will be shown a multimedia presentation, created by El Palau de les Arts Reina Sofia (Valencia, Spain) and Teatro dell'opera di Roma (Italy) in the Baths of Caracalla (Rome).

Director Carlus Padrissa (Spain) and the video maker Emmanuel Carlier (France) were inspired by the symphonic poem "La Trilogia Romana" created a century ago by the Italian composer Ottorino Respighi, and this evening, it will be performed by the Tchaikovsky Symphony Orchestra conducted by Antonio Méndez (Spain).

The Fund of Cultural and Humanitarian Programmes of Mstislav L. Rostropovich established the International Festival of Mstislav L. Rostropovich in 2010 in memory of the legendary cellist, conductor and citizen, whose creative and social activities are known everywhere. The artistic level of the festival, worthy of the personality of the maestro himself, made it equal to the major musical events in the world. "The works of the highest level and the best performance are to be heard at these concerts," – defined the concept Olga Rostropovich, the creator and artistic director of the Festival.

The IX International Festival of Mstislav Rostropovich is worthy of the memory of the great musician, it is a direct continuation of the high mission of his life. The Festival expands the musical boundaries of our country, creating a unique cultural space and bringing together tens of thousands of people around the world.
